Invitation to ISOT 2010
The organizing committee of ISOT 2010 extends a cordial invitation to you to come to Toronto to meet renowned scholars and practitioners from all over the world at a place that is reputed to be one of the most attractive cities in the world and not far from Niagara Falls. Mark your calendars now!

Objective
The objective of this symposium is to gather scientists and engineers working in the field of Optomechatronics and provide a forum for discussion for exchanging points of view and experience and sharing research results through high quality peer reviewed papers. The ISOT meeting is the world’s largest and most comprehensive technical symposium focused on Optomechatronics. We invite you to make your plans to attend the technical and the social programs of ISOT 2010 and have a memorable stay in beautiful Toronto.

Paper submission
Prospective participants are invited to electronically submit the full version of their work (in PDF file), following the instructions available on the Conference web site. Accepted and presented papers will be copyrighted to IEEE and published in conference proceedings that will appear in IEEE Xplore with standard IEEE conference indexing in databases. Some papers will be selected for publication in the International Journal of Optomechatronics. Special Sessions
Prospective participants of ISOT 2010 are encouraged to organize special sessions (5-6 papers) in a particular area among the symposium topics. Those interested should contact Yves Bellouard at y.bellouard@tue.nl or Sergej Fatikow at fatikow@uni-oldenburg.de or George Knopf at gknopf@eng.uwo.ca for details.

Poster Sessions
ISOT 2010 will have a new type of sessions focused on poster presentations to encourage detailed discussions among participants in the symposium.

Tutorials and Workshops
Proposals for half-day or full-day tutorials and workshops should be submitted to Peter Herman at p.herman@utoronto.ca according to the instructions on the conference web site. Prospective organizers should include: statement of objectives, intended audience, list of speakers, and list of topics.

Social Events
A major goal of ISOT 2010 is to be a catalyst for the establishment of collaborative research activities and long-lasting friendships among the optomechatronics community. With this purpose in mind, social events and tours will be organized to bring the participants closer.
